DO WE NEED A DOCTOR’S PRESCRIPTION TO ATTEND SCULPT U?

For physical therapy, yes. The state of Texas requires a physical therapist to obtain a medical prescription to perform skilled PT interventions.

For our 10 Week Sculpt Program, it is not required to have a prescription. One advantage of having a prescription though is that the patient can use his/her health spending account, and possibly get reimbursed by your insurance for your out of network benefits. The therapists can also perform manual therapy, as needed.

WHY DOES SCULPT U NOT TAKE INSURANCE?

Insurance companies have been increasing patient deductibles, decreasing provider reimbursements and even dictate what treatments are allowed for patients. Being free from insurance companies allow us to give you the one-on-one skilled treatment that you deserve to get you back to the way you felt ten years ago. With our ability to focus on each individual patient 100% of the time, we are able to get to the underlying root of the problem and we consistently deliver faster results than your typical in-network options.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT OUT-OF-NETWORK CLINICS ARE CHEAPER THAN GOING TO AN IN-NETWORK CLINIC?

Potentially, yes. This depends on your insurance, but consider the following scenario. You have a $5,000 deductible and look up an in-network PT clinic. Each session will be $100 until you meet your deductible. After your examination, your PT says they would like to see you three times a week, for eight weeks. This is a pretty hefty bill, but don’t worry because you think this is all going towards your deductible, right? Not so fast. Many insurances only apply the amount to what they feel is appropriate/justified to the deductible, which can be much less then what the clinic is charging you. Also, keep in mind the quality of care you are receiving, as well. Maybe the 15 minutes you get with your PT followed by self-monitored table exercises was not worth you staying “in-network.” With Sculpt U, you may only need to see the PT half the number of times than you would with your in-network PT’s, thus giving you more time to do the things you enjoy with the people you love.

WHAT IS A CASH PAY CLINIC VS OUT-OF NETWORK CLINIC?

These terms are used interchangeably and are quite similar. Out-of-network clinics have the same fee for services but do the submitting on behalf of the patient. Sculpt U is a cash pay clinic where the patient will pay for services provided up front via credit card or health savings account (HSA), if applicable. Proper receipts and documentation will be provided for the patient. At this time, the patient can choose to submit their claims to their insurance company for reimbursement. Of course, this all depends on your insurance plan. Many patients are able to apply the fees to an out-of-network deductible. Sculpt U a cash based clinic; it is built on a lean staff model which attempts to keep overhead expenses low thus passing on the savings on to the patient. Your therapist can assist you should you have any questions with the filing process.

SCULPT U IS NOT IN MY NETWORK. WHY WOULDN’T I GO DOWN THE STREET TO “XYZ PHYSICAL THERAPY”; DON’T Y’ALL DO THE SAME THING?

If you have ever had chance to attend one of the many in-network physical therapy clinics, you may know the feeling of getting treated like cattle being corralled through the clinic by the one or two therapists. These clinics all still want to help people; however, this model forces each clinician to see two, three or even four patients at a time. Often times you will be paying your high in-network deductible to lay on the table and do “your exercises” instructed by a tech or assistant. These are probably great PT’s with a vision but they are hand cuffed by declining reimbursement rates and increased business costs. How do we know this? Because we were those therapists. Sculpt U has adopted a comprehensive full body movement analysis system which will use manual therapy and the best reinforcing corrective exercises to address deficits.

You are the man/woman of the hour and all attention and focus is on you and your your goals. Within the hour session, we constantly re-assess to make sure we are seeing changes necessary for your speedy road to recovery. This of course this is only the first component of the formula. See Nutrition and Programming for more.

ARE MEDICARE PARTICIPANTS ABLE TO SUBMIT CLAIMS FOR SERVICES?

We are NOT participating providers for Medicare or any other insurances. We can only accept Medicare beneficiaries who will not be submitting claims. This option will be made before any services are rendered and must be made of the patient’s own free will.

Sculpt U is an amazing concept lead by two of the most dedicated physical therapists in the field. Their willingness to go the extra mile for their patients and their community is unmatched. When I am in pain, there is no other option on the table. You won't find another company even in the same arena as these guys.

Zach Johnson, PT, DPT, OCS

I have dedicated my life to helping my patients, always putting my own health on the back burner. I have been living with unrelenting chronic neck/back pain for years and thought I was destined to be in pain for the rest of my life. After working with the team at Sculpt U, I now have a new outlook on life, and I am back to doing the things I love with significantly less pain. They take the time to explain and educate their patients along with utilizing the power of touch which I find is lacking in healthcare. I wouldn't hesitate to refer my patients or anyone else dealing with pain to Sculpt U. Thank you for my life back.

Dr. Barbara Stegmann, M.D., PhD

As a urologist focusing on men’s health for over 25 years, I have dealt with a vast array of patient illnesses. The number of patients with associated sports injuries of all types and at all ages has steadily increased, although low back pain seems to be one of the most common complaints. Getting my patients into a well-supervised and strategically designed exercise program is imperative to their having a successful outcome and overall sense of well-being. Sculpt U provides a unique service that is simply not found anywhere else. It focuses on a true holistic approach that puts the patient’s needs first — something that I wholeheartedly support. Sculpt U is creatively far ahead of its peers and is a medical service that I will regularly recommend for my patients.
